Dear Mrs. Cowper,

As the 2008 school year comes to a close and I find myself at the end of my preschool years, I would like to formally thank you for my years of involvement with Presbyterian Church of the Master Preschool.

I will never forget the day I walked into your office to get some information for this idea of ‘preschool’ for my son.  I had never attended preschool myself and I was a bit concerned about sending my only baby off on his own. You smiled, welcomed me into your office e, asked my name, then did the most wonderful thing.  You went over to your bookshelf and pulled out your first preschool yearbook for 20 some years ago.  Just by knowing my last name, you were reminded that my husband and his brother and sister had been involved in this church and school.  To find a leader who fondly remembers nearly every pupil, well,, that moment sealed the deal!

My son did finish two wonderful years at PCOM Preschool, loving the Pilgrim days, cowboy days, Christmas program, farm visitors, crafts, and friendships we developed.  He is now a third grader at the top of his class.  He is in the AAA advanced program, a recent first-place winner of Saddleback College’s piano competition, and an avid reader and inventor.  While I know children are naturally gifted with talents, I will be the first to tell you that much of his success is due to his first teachers, Mrs. Uhlar, Mrs. Keller, Mrs. Bliss and Mrs. Frattone.  These outstanding teachers took a nervous child and encouraged him to do the one thing I feel is most important in the education of a child: they taught him to love to learn.

My daughter also came to preschool with Mrs. Keller and Mrs. Uhlar setting the stage for her learning.  I knew everything would go well when she excitedly told me on the first day that she had been picked to be SuperHelper.  In a professional way, they knew that she would flourish if she sensed she was needed and respected from the get-go.  These teachers have always had a way of making her feel special, and even now they hug her whenever they see her.  When a child is loved, she will love in return.

I would also like to thank Mrs. Bachelder.  I am so touched each time she seeks me out to tell me of my daughter’s joy and progress in ‘jumping class’ a.k.a. motor development.  Learning about physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle are critical components of what I would like to see a school teach.  I believe Mrs. Bachelder’s enthusiasm for these areas of learning is one of the best aspects of PCOM Preschool.

Finally, I would like to commend my daughter’s current teachers , Mrs. Bliss and Mrs. Frattone.  During this past year they have been phenomenal in caring for her, guiding her learning and development, helping her explore her Christian beliefs, and ensuring that her preschool years are a highlight of her life.

Having been in and out of the classroom volunteering and attending events, I have been impressed by the level of personal attention they give to each student, the amount of activities available to the children, and the structure they give to the workday.  Most recently, I worked in the classroom for the Easter celebration.  As a teacher myself, I can tell you that it was incredible how they managed to take all 16 children through egg dying, Easter-basket filling, dessert preparation with frosting and sprinkles, whole class games, and on top of all that, stories about Jesus and the meaning of Easter. Wow!

My husband and I believe that our children have been a part of this preschool for a reason.  The teachers are of the highest caliber, the environment is top-notch, and we are so thankful for the quality of learning that takes place here daily.  Without a doubt, all the children who learn and play at PCOM Preschool are enriched by their experiences here, and I know my children -and our family- will have fond memories forever.

Thank you!

Dear Mrs. Cowper,

I wanted to thank you and let you know what an amazing school you lead, with such wonderful ladies.  Sarah absolutely blossomed in her class with Mrs. Sarrao & Mrs. Felton.  It was a truly wonderful class and she is well prepared for kindergarten.  Hannah absolutely loved her class with Mrs. McDonald & Mrs. Hoffer.  They are amazing ladies!  I absolutely love taking my girls to PCOM each day.  I know they are in wonderful hands.  I appreciate all of the wonderful activities that you organize for them and that you so enjoy your Bible lessons with them.  That is really special!  Thank you for your love and prayerful support towards me regarding my mom.  I really appreciate it and am so blessed that I had your support and your staff’s during that time. God is good!

Lots of love,

Dear Mrs. Cowper,

We have enjoyed a fantastic first year at PCOM.  Thank you for all you do to create and support such a nurturing environment for our children.  My daugher absolutely loves going to preschool, and I’ve been grateful to Mrs. Freer and Mrs. Torrey and all the other wonderful PCOM staff members who have contributed to her development.  She has learned so many new skills, and most of all has come away with a true love for learning.  We look forward to seeing what next year has in store for her!

All the best,

Danielle P.

Mrs. Cowper & all Preschool staff,

We can’t say enough about your wonderful preschool!  Our son is now finishing Kindergarten and has had a terrific year!  He doesn’t want school to end!  We really think his love of learning is greatly due to your preschool.  All of the special days and enrichment programs are so creative, as well as educational.  We couldn’t wait to pick him up each day to hear about what he learned.  The teachers are amazing too and really care about the children and their individual needs.  We feel like a part of a family and not just a number being pushed through a business.  It is more like a home away from home for us.  Now our daughter has started at PCOM as well, and she loves it just as much!  We would especially like to thank Mrs. Freer who has taught both of our children.  She has been such a blessing to our kids and they light up each time they see her.  We truly appreciate your dedication to making PCOM Preschool such a special and memorable place to learn.

With much love,

We were part of the PCOM Preschool family for four wonderful years, and sending our children to PCOM was one of the best decisions we could have made. From my son’s first day of school, PCOM provided a loving, nurturing, and stimulating environment with a strong Christian foundation. The teachers were all so caring, treating each child with compassion and respecting their individual differences. Our children thrived with the ideal balance of structure and flexibility that the curriculum offered. The special programs that took place throughout the year (Thanksgiving feast, Christmas program, mothers’ tea, etc) added a sense of excitement. Our eldest son entered kindergarten with the confidence and social skills that allowed him to thrive in public school. We are so very thankful to PCOM Preschool for giving our children this positive foundation.

I have four kids, three of whom have attended PCOM Preschool.  I can’t wait for my fourth to come here and grow and learn.  While helping in the classrooms, I have witnessed over and over again how much the teachers genuinely love the kids, and how much they love to teach.  One thing that is very important to me is knowing that I am leaving my children in a caring & safe environment.  PCOM has exceeded my expectations.  I am also always impressed with how creative the thematic units are.  I have been so pleased with the pre-kindergarten program as well. My son has grown and learned so much.  I feel very confident in him starting kindergarten now.  Parent involvement is also encouraged and always welcomed.  I can’t say enough about how wonderful PCOM preschool is!

Thank you!
